Festive DIY - Making Your Own Christmas Cards
The population is divided into two kinds of yuletide shoppers. The first half run out on Christmas Eve to do their shopping, leaving the kids decorating the tree. They arrive home with all the presents, consisting mainly of whatever was left in the confectionary section of the local supermarket, and no gift wrap. The second half have been planning gifts, parties and mince pies since June and still manage to forget to put the turkey in the oven on time. These are the people who listen to loved ones throughout the year and make a note that Aunt Jessie really needs a quality diary this year. For those who plan early, a popular idea is to have their own personal christmas cards produced.
Some people choose to design and order their high quality cards online and have them delivered to their door. Others choose a trip to the nearby stationery store. Most office supply shops have an aisle dedicated to home crafts, and you can find coloured card, adhesives, decorations, envelopes and inspiration if you're lacking. You can also (if you really want to do it right) pick up a desk and chair to work at, boxes and filing cabinets to store things in, address books to remind you who to send the finished product to, plastic cups for the family get-together, a quality diary for Aunt Jessie and the gift wrap your partner will be searching for on the 24th of December.
